Description, stats, concerns and expectations:
Stage Weight Goal: 129-131. I'm using this log to track my progress during my contest prep. This will be my first show. It's on 8/19/17. I was going to compete on 7/1/17 and be done with it before summer really kicks off but that show got canceled. So now instead of being 7 weeks out, I'm 14 weeks out (as of 5/16/17). It's all fine by me; more time to further develop my discipline. I am all natural at the moment so I will be doing a natural show. My full plan is to do a three-show beginning season. Three shows all four weeks apart. I plan to cross-enter from bikini to figure at some point for a few reasons: 1) The experience with both divisions. I want to get a feel for both bikini and figure and I want to see what the judges have to say about which I'm better suited for in case I end up liking competitive bodybuilding 2) I honestly have the size for the natural figure stage and I want to embrace this rather than worrying about being really little. I don't plan to stay little for too long 3) I'm really not competitive with other people. I don't have that drive to compare myself to such an extent that I'm obsessed with the bikini physique over the figure physique or vice versa. I simply appreciate and value the dedication it takes to get on stage. My ideal physique, for me personally, is a pretty blended mix of NPC bikini and figure. I'd like to have bigger legs and shoulders than the average bikini girl but with the conditioning of a figure competitor. I'm using this log to keep track of my nutrition, training and supplements and plan to update regularly. I want to get comfortable with logging so when I'm ready to use AAS, I'm in the habit of tracking on a regular and consistent basis. I plan to start my first cycle post-show on the rebound. A few notes about the weird training plan you'll see: My work schedule varies from week to week but it is always Monday through Friday. The hours Tuesday through Thursday vary greatly with a 12-14 hour day not being uncommon once my commute is factored in. I'm on the road a lot. I can 100% count on getting to the gym on weekends. Mondays and Friday are very reliable office days with a normal 9 to 5:30 work day. I can count on Mondays and Fridays to be easier than the middle of my week. Also, you'll see that I don't train chest at the gym. I had a breast augmentation last year so it's not really necessary for me to build a chest. I do push-ups at home to keep it strong to avoid imbalances and avoid injuries but there's no need for me to bench and do a ton of incline work. I'll throw on a few sets of pec deck after training shoulders. My water intake is, at minimum, a gallon a day on long commute days, and I commonly hit 2 gallons on office days and weekends. I'm still fine tuning my omega ratio and sodium to potassium ratio.

3/4/17: Scale goes down almost every morning by 0.2 pounds, if not 0.4. Slow and steady right now and it feels great. I finished my 10 day loading phase with the MT2 yesterday. I tanned yesterday and this morning and the color is developing. No negative sides from the MT2. I pin it in the morning. I go for blood work next weekend just see where my thyroid, cortisol, folate and vitamin D are at. This training program of hitting the weights 4 days in a row is by far my favorite program to date.

LOL Sieg, I'm trying to update any references to specific weeks in these posts. My show was canceled due to the promoter having a death in the family and it's a small show so the organization hosting it isn't replacing the promoter. They're just canceling it. Anyway, I'm working on updating this log because it's been awhile.

2/23/17: Updated log to reflect introduction of MT2 and adjustments to glutamine and EFA intake. Coach said 10g glutamine is unnecessary. Was taking EFA with breakfast but as stated below, I want protein only at Meal 1. Nothing major. Locked in right now. Scale goes down in increments every morning.

2/20/17: It's Monday morning and I've been sick since Friday night. Had a fever until Sunday morning. Was nauseous all of Saturday and really haven't had an appetite most of the weekend. I slept most of yesterday and only got out of bed to get my meals in. This morning I woke up at 7am feeling about 40% better. The fever, nausea, and body aches are gone. So is the pounding headache and pressure in my ears. Left with some sinus and chest congestion and a sore throat. Felt improved and rested enough to get to the gym and do a half hour of fasted cardio in an effort to break up some of the stubborn congestion. I sat in the sauna for 25 minutes afterwards too because the sweat simply felt cleansing and I missed it. Came home and had my egg whites and multivitamin. Going to take it easy today and get some food shopping done. I wanted to go yesterday but I just didn't have it in me. More rest, fluids and clean eating on deck for today. Back to work tomorrow.

For the last 10 days, I've cut my fat dramatically to only 30g per day. In 10 days, I've lost 3.8 pounds. It seems it was the adjustment I needed. I also adjusted the timing of carbs and no longer have carbs with my first meal of the day or immediately post-workout. I updated the Diet section of this log to reflect what I'm currently eating. The banana and white rice post-workout doesn't go down the hatch until 20 minutes after the whey shake. Then about 45 minutes to an hour later, I have my last meal of the day, which is my absolute favorite, lean ground beef with white rice and sugar free ketchup. The peanut butter is like dessert. The new training split is the best split I've ever done. I'm primed and ready to go come Fridays. There's something about starting my weekend knowing I'll be in the gym the next 4 days that makes my Friday work days a breeze. I'm off this Monday so I have a three-day weekend and although I'm getting sick (and it's in my chest, which is rare for me,) I'm looking forward to a few really productive training sessions this weekend. I also ordered my first bottles of Melanotan for the season. :)

Why are you deleting carbs upon waking and pist workout? Generally you want carbs at those 2 times more than any other time for the insulin spike it provides.

I'm not deleting carbs post-workout entirely. I'm just not consuming them immediately after. I'm waiting 20 minutes. In both the post-workout meal and first meal of the day, I want fast digesting protein and protein alone so as not to interfere with GH pulses.

So far, I love it. Coming from a 5-day split and now only really training 4 days per week, I'm making sure to keep the intensity up at every workout. Having the middle of my week "off" to rest (only cardio and light chest) seems to get me primed pretty nicely to hit it hard come Friday. By Monday, my whole body is sore and I'm looking forward to having Tuesday off. I'm happy with the new split for sure.

I love this! Your supplement timing is very similar to mine. I consume 5 meals daily with an optional 6th. This is very fine use of the cycle log! I appreciate how thorough your expectations and rationales are laid out. Life can at anytime become hectic and never gives us notice. I look forward to following your log. What's your training split like?

Thanks, Calm! I'm trying out a new training split in an effort to better manage my work/life balance. My job has taken over a lot lately and I'm trying to get it in check. I posted it above under the Workout Plan tab but to recap it I only train Friday through Monday. Legs on Fridays, Shoulders on Saturdays, Back on Sunday, and Arms on Sunday. Abs and calves are hit multiple times per week.

Kind of thought about logging a cruise too, but decided to log it in the forum instead in keeping with "tradition". I was thinking today of what a cycle is, and i came to a thought that a cycle is a set period of time, with a specified goal or goals, a specific diet, and a training protocol while using some form of supplementation in line with goals chosen. Supplements can be for weight loss or gain, or otherwise enhance performance in view of said goal or goals. So, whether going natty, trt/cruise, or full tilt aas use would fall under the proposed definition so long as the elements within the definition are extant. Idk, just a thought.

i love the natty approach. , id put my money on a brother , with propper diet. ,propper training and natty . , over anyone with a half ass diet and training. and all the aas in the world .. i trained natty for over 20. and that was with prison food. , yes i got protein shakes. and i bought alot of bagels and pb...and shit. but i also slept.....a little better than now. i knew my door locked at 9pm opened at 6 pm. so i kind of slept better. and i was diesel. ....

Great starting point for a cycle log Little K. In no time it will become second nature and you will gain valuable information for future development. Thanks for taking the time to share your journey with the other MG members. You can find leaner ground turkey if you decide it is necessary to cut some animal fat from your diet. If you are looking to boost your metabolism I would like to suggest that you consider an iodine supplement. I prefer iThyroid and it can be found inexpensively on Amazon. An iodine supplement, if you are otherwise already healthy, will get your thyroid functioning optimally in a more favorable way than other supplements without the crash associated with stimulants. IMO it is a much better choice than Phenadrine Thermo. A simple ECA stack can also be included.

Thanks, guys! I've definitely bought 99/1 ground turkey before and am sure I'll begin using it more and more as the fats taper off deeper into prep. It's a bit expensive to use exclusively but I'll update the diet portion of this log when I incorporate it. As for my Phenadren thermo, the capsules I take contain the following daily totals: Niacin 30mg Vitamin B6 40mg Folate 800mcg Vitamin B12 100mcg Calcium 30mg Chromium 200mcg Caffeine 700mg There's a bunch of stuff in the Proprietary Blend that I liked the idea of using and the bottle was heavily discounted so I thought I'd give it a shot since it doesn't contain calories like many other thermos do. I currently take Synthroid for my hypothyroid but neglected to list that up above. I'm due for updated blood work to see how my TSH and T3 are responding to it. I'll look into an Iodine supplement and consider it once I have new blood levels. Thanks again!
