Description, stats, concerns and expectations:
The time has finally come. I am running a test cyp only cycle for 12 weeks. I have arimidex and aro on hand. Not sure how e2 sensitive I am so I will be playing if very safe seeing that I have experienced pubescent gyno as a teen. Chances are that with a simple cycle like this I will never even touch the aro but it makes me feel better knowing its there. I am currently 70" 170lbs 13%bf and I am 25 yrs old. Goals: 10-15lbs with no more than 2%bf added. I have a very fast metabolism so bf is not a huge worry of mine since adding 30 mins of cardio can shed it quick. TDEE:2900 BMR:1800. Diet currently consists of 3100cal= 345g carbs+250g protein+80g fats. Carbs consist of brown rice, steel cut oats, whole grain/brown rice pasta, quinoa and some whole grain breads on occasion. Protein consists of chicken breast, 90% ground beef, eggs, ground turkey, milk+shake, and flank steaks. Fats consist of olive oil, nuts and nut butters, coconut oil, and milk (whole one glass a day). My diet is carb heavy due to the fast metabolism. If working out big muscle groups like back or legs I may bump it up even more. I can feel my blood sugar drop pretty quickly during these days especially. During the cycle I will be slowly increasing proteins and fats until I am at 3400cal ed. I train 4-5 times a week with very little cardio. As I previously mentioned I can shed weight really quick so I am not worried about it as much. Majority of my cardio comes from high intensity abdominal and oblique training. PCT is the standard nolva/clomid mix. I plan on updating eow to keep everyone in the loop on my progress. First pin was on Nov 23. I wish I had the time to get on and post this earlier but finals are coming up so that took priority. I almost forgot to mention that total T is at 712 as of two weeks ago. I plan on getting bloods week 6 unless e2 sides force me to get them earlier. I want to thank Dolf and Blast for their help personally. As for the rest of you, I cannot thank you enough. Its guys like Seig, Strong, Milk, Semper, Gasman, IC etc that have made so much info available to me. There is one source that especially gets my thanks but I will not name here. You men and women have helped immensely get me ready for the next step and for that I am grateful. If I have not named you just know I have read everything on here to date and I have gained so much from you. Now lets get these GAINS!!

Wanted to chime in here because I literally just went through this. Hurt my right rotator cuff when I was 17 benching. To the point where I couldn't drive with my right hand for a week as the external rotation was crippling. I stopped training and it got better. Since then every couple years I start flat benching again and 315 starts feeling light and I try to make a surge up to 405 and I hurt it again. This last time I took 5 weeks off from the gym completely. I had a little quad pain too at the bottom of the loft so I let it all heal up. Went to the chiropractor. Got some exercises. See where my weakness in that shoulder is. Now I'm back and nothing hurts. "In order to move forward, sometimes you must stand still." Actually I remember Dexter Jackson saying the reason he's been able to train for so long without any major injuries was because when he has a minor one he's not afraid to shut down for a week or two. The guys been competing for about 70 years so he must be on to something.

Hate to hear that Yp about your shoulder. Good advice already been published. Its a part of the learning game and roller coaster of lifting lifestyle. You really have to learn your body and as Dolf said be a little extra cautious while cycling because your strength will increase faster than your tendons/ligaments. I know its hard because once you start feeling the gains its difficult to not want to go balls out. Shoulder injuries are no joke. I would simply go really light weight and very controlled movements. If it hurts stop. You will have to be the judge on what pain is tolerable and safe to push through but again if its sharp shooting pain or deep seated back off. You can still get a great workout going super high reps with slow controlled movements or if the pain is too severe, then just work other body parts that involve the least shoulder engagement. Squats and deadlifts have little to no shoulder work which are the best compound movements you can do while you heal the shoulder. Keep us posted and dont let it get you down, its happened to every single one of us at one time or another. You are blessed with being young so that will help in the healing process, but dont get stupid and do something that will cause permanent damage. You can always get creative and work around injuries just as many have already stated. Let us know what your doc says.

Week 4 Update: Okay so some new and informative occurrences that I would like to share with ya'll. For the arimidex E3D has been working great for me so for simple cycles like this that will be my go to from day 1 due to estro sensitivity. I am up 10lbs, well 15 but I took off 5 just to compensate for water weight. But some bad news as well. I injured my right shoulder pretty bad and it has been hindering my gains. About a week ago I noticed some abnomal pain in the shoulders during bench and dips. I attirbute it to my weight increase in my shoulder routine but it could be a number of things. I gave myself 4 days to recoup but to no avail. I have been hitting legs really tough to at least get in and abs have been hit as well. as far as arms I have been keeping it really light weight. I have also been doing more rotator cuff excersizes then normal and icing it 3 times a day for 30 mins each. I have a doctors appt tomorrow so hopefully I will get some news. I have semi limited mobility and not too much strength decreasing in right arm which leads me to believe its not too serious but I would much rather be safe than sorry. I know many of you have dealt with similar situations so your input would greatly be appreciated. This is my first shoulder injury that has lasted over a week. Diet is still on track. I have increased caloric intake to 3300. Next week I expect to be at 3400 and will continue with that far past PCT to maximize the gains I keep like Mister A suggested. Muscle feels harder in my opinion but that could just be me. Thank you guys for all your help and I look forward to hearing some of your opinions on my current dilemma.

I have hyper-mobile shoulders, both of which have been dislocated numerous times. My right shoulder is the worst, and took time a care to get it good to go. I had to stay away from dumbbell presses and flyes for that matter for a good 18 months, which sucked because i love dumbbells. So, I stuck with smith machine barbell presses. First, however, you'll have spend extra time warming up your shoulders. One really helpful warm up that works well for we is to take a kettle ball, say 20 lbs, lie on your back, and press it up and hold. I like to station the kettle ball just over the pec on the same side you're pressing from. Hold static until you feel the heat in your shoulder and maybe a little longer. Do this on both sides 2x. Of course do other warm ups for your shoulders as well. Using the smith machine, and with the bar empty, press the bar taking special note if you feel pain. Adjust hand position, and the position of your body under the bar until you find the right overall position where there is either no pain or very little pain. Load the bar with low weight and test this position out. You will likely, and probably shouldn't lower the bar all the way as the shoulder plays a significant role pressing the bar from the chest. Play with techniques until you find the least painful position. In my opinion, stopping altogether may increase chances of the joint becoming stiff. However, you must stop if the pain is to much, and I mean about a 3-4 on a scale of 10. If the shoulder is doing ok, cable flyes are cool. Just be very careful. I can't say it enough, but once you feel that pain, stop. Do abs, or cardio, maybe triceps, or a body part you feel is lagging so you still get ample training time. You're there at the gym, so may as well keep trucking! Hope this helps.

Shoulder injuries can be brutal and most definitely a hindrance. I certainly have some unwanted experience in this department. It's taken me six months of personal physical rehabilitation to get to a place where I feel physically comfortable putting up weight. While its a physical injury, a lot of it is in your mind-state as well. I probably could have recovered even sooner than I did if I would have just been more patient with the healing process and listened to my body. The training game-plan while injured will no doubt look different than while fully healthy. It can be frustrating, but its definitely worth letting yourself heal properly than making a shitty situation even worse by doing irreparable damage. Sounds like you're on the right track and I'm glad to hear your first cycle is going well!

Sorry to hear that brotha! Keep in mind to not increase weight too fast because your tendons do not strengthen as fadt as your muscles whilebon gear. Start doing some shoulder prehab to help strengthen the shoulders and tendons.

DIPS !!!!! i just told my partner today we wanted to do dips. i told him i cant !!!!! it puts a certain pressure on the rotor cuff , and brother i know. now your work is cut out for you. but i contribute so much of my rotor cuff issues to the dips. , can you feel that horrible pinch and hurt where the front and real dealt meet. ...i wont do dips no more no need , even tho they are in the same catagory as pull ups for me.

Sieg!! Thanks for checking in on the cycle bro. Ya man I feel that sharp pain right In that same spot at first but I can usually power through 20-25 no problem. It's that first one that kills me. I'm definitely going to have to drop those for now and start utilizing other excersizes for those muscles. I might want to look into a permanent alternative if they can be that damaging to my shoulders.

You're totally right bro. If I keep pushing myself like this I'm going to fuck myself up really bad and that's the last thing I want. I'm not accustomed to rotator cuff injuries so I didn't even know what the deal was with my arm until someone told me. Hopefully I didn't mess anything up too bad.

Quick Update: Week 1: No noticeable change as can be expected. Some extra aggression in the gym that can be attributed to the placebo effect. Other than that all is well. Pinning is easy but takes some time for me to commit. No need for the AI as of yet but its may be too early to tell. Ive been pinning quads because they are easy to reach. I tried glutes but I am just not flexible enough to be able to aspirate and not shake. Diet is still on point and training 5 days a week. Week 2: Not sure if my sex drive could be going up this quickly but Im like a jack rabbit. Yet again in could just be a placebo effect. Hunger has increased with my commitment to this diet. Body is used to taking in that much food. Pinning my left quad is a pain in the ass. I have no idea why but it is exponentially more painful from start to finish that the right. From pinning to administering the oil, it hurts. I keep at it but I cant say I like it. Yet again not much new. Training and diet on point and just staying patient. Week 3: Essentially this is being written two days earlier than the end of week 3 but why not. I have some interesting news. I started getting an itch in my nip and some soarness in the pre existing lumps. I decided to take an AI. I was getting hot flashes and was moody and kind of feeling sick but not really. Something I learned about my E2: it manifests itself in the form of crippling anxiety. I spent almost two hours scared to pin. 6 days after .5eod arimidex, that went away no problem. The nips are back to normal and I am doing great. I got to say that I am really stoked to have learned that about my E2. I will be dropping ari to .5e3d and see how that works as of today. I am starting to see some strength increasing in my curls (5lbs per arm), squats 25lbs, and bench about 25lbs. Not a crazy amount but definitely some improvement. No change in sex drive (still a beast). All-in-all I am feeling good. I have ordered an estradiol test to get the AI dialed in. End of this week is finals so I will probably be putting it off until a week from now. More extensive bloods will be done at around week 6-7. I plan on updating next week since there are new developments and I want to share those with yall. Thanks MG!! Keep lifting!!

Great update brotha! Thanks! Sounds lime you got your shit squared away, and will have a great cycle. Keep on watching that e2 very closely since you have a lump from pubescent gyno. Play around a bit with your ai and find what works best for you.

Great update, nice detail. I, too, hated pinning my left quad, but after exploring different locations, I found the spot (daily pinning helps nail it down quicker). For me, glutes is the most painless, butt the right side is more difficult to reach for some reason. You'll get it at some point. Anyhow, sounds like you're rockin the cycle so far. Good work brother!!

How did I miss this one?! What a beautiful cycle log. Got your TDEE figured out. Obviously a good understanding of nutrition and what foods work well for you. I'm very impressed. This is the kind of person we want to see jumping into their first cycle. We have guys here on their fifth, sixth cycle who don't even know how to get their BMR. You will go far with this first cycle my friend. If your metabolism is as fast as you say I recommend keeping that TDEE+500 calories mark through PCT and maybe another 4 weeks beyond it if you're really looking to cement yourself over that 200 pound mark. Looking very forward to the results here and willing to assist any way possible.

This is always the best cycle starting out. You will love it but be patient. Test E takes some time to kick in. 4-5 weeks is about when you will be able to really tell that it has kicked in so long as training and diet are on point. Sounds like you got it down in your description above. Its hard not to get impatient but I promise about week 4-5 all of a sudden your strength in lifts will go up, weight will go up, recovery is fantastic and you won't want to leave the gym. Good training and look forward to seeing your results.
