Best of two evils (1st cycle)

started my first cycle of Test only 250 weekly for 12 weeks, 2 weeks off, then 20 days of tamoxifen.

im going on vacation for a week (cruise) and drinking is gonna occur.

My question: is it ”better” to drink during the 2 weeks off following my 12th week or drink after the 20 days on tamoxifen?

I drink during both. BUT I

I drink during both. BUT I only rarely drink to excess.  Once or twice a year and more by accident than plan.

My best answer is a question: What are you trying to achieve with your cycle?

Alcohol inhibits peak performance period, largely due to the high amount of worthless calories consumed. Also can slow down metabolism at a small level.

Now, personally...I will sacrifice some gains for the relaxation and joy of a glass a wine at night with my wife. It's worth the pay off but I am not competing and I am achieving my goals.

Hope this was a little help.

with this first cycle I’m

with this first cycle I’m simply trying to lean out and have more muscle definition. I am not competing. Also want to pass my current plateau maxes in chest, deadlift and squats. I understand drinking is not adviced, but it would be hard to be in a cruise and not get tempted By my wife. So I was thinking when it would be better to take...

Drink tonic and cranberry

Drink tonic and cranberry juice. Everyone will think its vodka and not water. THen once theyre hammered tey will be impressed at how well you hold up "drinking that much". Then when you go back to the room for a bang, everything will work ;) no whiskey dick lol

Alchol is counter productive

Alchol is counter productive BIG TIME , TO WHAT WE ARE OUT TO ACHIEVE!!! it will strip you of all  i know this first hand ,, with alcohol comes every other bad habbitt  right down to not eating right  , and depleting our system., we are suppose to hydrate  and alcohol  dehydrates the list goes on ,,i know i lived it

Do your self a favor , dont even run a cycle ,stay alcohol free for 4 months and i promise your eating and training will.excell   , then drink    and train and you be the judge ,just my 2cents

Please dont take offence but

Please dont take offence but I would Quit my cycle and re start it when you are serious about bringing your body to a whole new level, If you are bodybuilding, it takes 100% commitment and drinking alcohol is totally detrimental to what you are trying to achieve, period! Its just my 2 cents but you are wasting your money on a cycle if you are even considering drinking. Just grow a pair and just say NO !!! LOL

Mohawk,

Mohawk,

It is my opinion that Bobby nailed it when saying that alcohol inhibits peak performance. It does. I am reading that you are not looking to stand up on stage. I will just answer your original question..  If you plan on having a few drinks, it doesn't matter if you do it before or after PCT.. I see you stated tamoxifen... I hope you have some Clomid as well for your PCT..

I could have read it wrong

I could have read it wrong but I don't think he was imply drinking at a level of an alcoholic but more as a relaxing time with his wife.

OBVIOUSLY if anyone drinks to excess....hell if you do anything to excess, to the point it controls you versus you control it - alcohol, food, steroids, anything. Stop immediately and regain dominance over self.   The reevaluate life.

Regardless enjoy the trip dude and thanks for the question. And do research Strong's advice on the clomid!  You will want it for PCT.

Alcohol

Yeah but these guys are trying to explain that even having a couple drinks with the wife once a week is detrimental. If people want to relax and have a couple then go for it. But it doesn't make any sense to run a cycle while doing it. You'd get more out of eating clean and training hard naturally than you would being lax on your intake on gear.

Steroids are not for people who want to be average. There's nithnot wrong with people who aren't willing to put the work in. But there's something wrong with people who aren't willing to put the work in and take steroids. (Not willing to abstain from alcohol = not willing to put the work in.)

Also 250mg of Test is not a cycle. You're kidding yourself.

I don't honestly agree Griz.

I don't honestly agree Griz.  Trust me you have my highest respect and you are definitely 'the man' over me on most of this stuff BUT someone can get great benefit from and enjoy a ''cycle'' without being blatantly over the top. There are some in this community that like yourself do BIG cycles and super big diet and exercise commitments. And we love you for sharing your knowledge!

Then there are some like me that do a shorter and lesser cycle with solid diet and exercise commitments and who get pretty much everything I/we sought from the cycle without getting anywhere near what your talking about commitment wise. (example I lift six days a week for an avg of 1.5hrs each, I do cardio four days a week for an avg of 1 hour each. My diet is clean and solid - less than 2,500 calories a day and very low sugar. BUT I have drinks with the wife most weeks at least once and wouldn't give it up for the world.  Love how I look and feel but honestly, I could stand to lose 10lbs off my gut!  Something I could probably do with strong cycle and dropping alcohol; payoff/tradeoff for me isn't worth it.)

HOWEVER: I do think folks like me tend much closer to just TRT then what you are talking about and thus come from a very different point of view and goal set.  Thank you so much for sharing your view as I could be completely off the mark!

Lastly I do agree, 250mg is an overly high TRT dose but not a 'cycle'. Lower the dose for TRT and get a good TRT doctor.
